- Key to the conference’s CSO-centric programme is an exhibition showcasing 38 NDA funded projects that implement poverty eradication programmes in various provinces.
The National Development Agency (NDA) will from Thursday showcase the impact of its programmes and foster effective partnerships with a wide range of its stakeholders at a two-day national conference to be held in benoni.
With poverty alleviation as the main priority, the conference is themed “Positioning the National Development Agency as a thought leader in poverty eradication and amplifying the role of civil society organisations (CSOs) as drivers of sustainable community development”.
The NDA said as an entity mandated to contribute towards poverty eradication and promote sustainable development through partnerships with CSOs, its programmatic focus is aligned to the Government of National Unity (GNU) pillar on “Reducing poverty and tackling the high cost of living” to address poverty, inequality, and unemployment.
This pillar aligns directly with the NDA’s legislative mandate of driving poverty eradication initiatives. As the government’s lead agency in this space, the NDA seeks to position itself as a premier development institution that catalyses sustainable and scalable solutions to poverty eradication.
Key to the conference’s CSO-centric programme is an exhibition showcasing 38 NDA funded projects that implement poverty eradication programmes in various provinces. Additionally, the 160 CSOs in attendance will convene in commissions where they will deliberate on key issues that will seek to advance their sector and foster stronger relations with the NDA.
Conference Topics:
• Maximizing the impact of NDA grant funding & capacity building
• Innovative approaches to enhance strategic partnerships and resource mobilization
• CSO feedback & accountability mechanisms for NDA interventions
• The NDA Turnaround Strategy: Path to stronger and impactful CSOs
