JCPS CLUSTER TO LEAD COMMUNITY OUTREACH IN MTHATHA TO ADDRESS CRIME AND VIOLENCE

• Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi will lead the JCPS Cluster’s outreach in Mthatha to address crime and safety concerns.
• Oversight visits will take place at police, court, and victim support facilities to evaluate services.
• The programme will conclude with a Community Imbizo at Mthatha Stadium to foster dialogue with residents.

The Justice, Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) Cluster, led by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mmamoloko Kubayi, will undertake a community outreach programme in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, on Thursday, 18 September 2025.
The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between government, law enforcement agencies, and the community in addressing crime and violence. Minister Kubayi and members of the JCPS Cluster will meet with residents, civil society, and traditional, political, and religious leaders to hear their concerns and explore solutions to improve safety.
The programme will include oversight visits to key facilities such as the Mthatha Police Station, Domestic Violence and Maintenance Sections, the Sexual Offences Court, and the Sinawe Thuthuzela Care Centre. These visits will provide an opportunity to assess service delivery and ensure that victims of crime receive adequate support.
The day will culminate in a Community Imbizo at Mthatha Stadium, where government leaders will engage directly with residents on matters of crime prevention, justice services, and community safety.
