Interns from various directorates within the Department of Social Development (DSD), gathered in Bloemfontein on Monday, 23 March 2026, for a transformative Personal Mastery training session hosted by the Office of the Premier in the Free State. The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to equip young professionals with essential personal and professional development skills as they transition into the workplace.
The training focused on strengthening key competencies such as self-awareness, goal setting, emotional intelligence, and effective communication. Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, participants were encouraged to reflect on their personal values, strengths, and areas for growth.
Facilitators emphasised the importance of personal mastery as a foundation for leadership and long-term career success. Interns were guided on taking ownership of their development, maintaining discipline, and aligning their personal aspirations with organisational objectives.
The session also provided a valuable platform for interns from different directorates to engage, share experiences, and build professional networks in a supportive environment.
