- The Department of Social Development and Ubuntu Transformation Foundation are set to unveil their plans to encourage one million men to sign a pledge aimed at combating violence against women and children, following a call by the Deputy President.
- The initiative seeks to rally men nationwide to take a stand against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Femicide (GBVF), with a hybrid approach to ensure broad participation.
- The media is invited to attend the official announcement of this campaign on 27 November 2024 at the SABC Ground Floor Auditorium at 10:00 AM.
Following the Deputy President’s call to engage men as partners in the fight against violence towards women and children, the Department of Social Development and Ubuntu Transformation Foundation will tomorrow announce their plans to encourage one million men to sign the pledge, as previously outlined by the Deputy President.
The department, alongside its strategic partners, aims to mobilise all men across the country to respond to the call and sign the pledge. A hybrid approach will be adopted to ensure the pledge reaches as many men as possible, empowering them to take a stand against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF).
Members of the media are encouraged to attend and cover the announcement, which will take place on 27 November 2024 at 10:00 AM in the SABC Ground Floor Auditorium.
