TWO PARENTS ARRESTED IN BLOUBERGSTRAND ON CHARGES OF SEXUAL ABUSE AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

• The parents of two young girls have been arrested on allegations of rape, sexual assault, sexual groom and the production of child pornography.
• The arrests were made in Bloubergstrand in the Western Cape on Tuesday, 10 June 2025.
• The arrests were a result of a joint operation between the South African Police Service, the Department of Social Development, the FBI and the United States’ Homeland Security Investigations.

The South African Police Service arrested a 47-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man in Bloubergstrand, Western Cape, on Tuesday, 10 June 2025, for the alleged sexual abuse of their two daughters, aged three and eight.

The suspects face multiple charges, including the production of child sexual abuse material also called “child pornography”, rape, sexual assault, and sexual grooming.

The victims were rescued during the operation and have since been placed in a place of safety.

The operation was carried out by a multidisciplinary team comprising members of the national and Western Cape Serial and Electronic Crime Investigations Units, and officials from the Department of Social Development supported by the FBI and United States’ Homeland Security Investigations.

The suspects were located at a residence identified through joint investigative efforts.

Several electronic devices were seized during the arrest.

The investigation is ongoing.
