SOCIAL GRANT PAYMENT DATES FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE 2024

• The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has outlined the June 2024 payment schedule for social grants, starting with the Older Persons Grants on the 4th of June, followed by Disability Grants on the 5th of June, and all other grants from the 6th of June.
• Beneficiaries can choose how to receive their money, although the SASSA/SAPO card remains usable as a debit card at ATMs and various retail merchants.
• SASSA advises beneficiaries to keep their card and PIN secure and to avoid sharing their PIN with anyone to ensure the safety of their funds.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has released the payment schedule for social grants for the cycle of June 2024.

Payments will commence with the Older Persons Grants from the 4th of June 2024. Beneficiaries of the Old Age Grant who also receive Child Support Grants and Foster Care Grants will be able to access these linked children grants on the same day. This will be followed by payments for people with disabilities on the 5th of June 2024, including grants linked to their accounts. All other grants will be paid from the 6th of June 2024.

Beneficiaries have the option to open their own bank accounts with a banking institution of their choice, which will assist them in taking ownership of their funds and the collection process. The SASSA/SAPO card can still be used as a debit card at ATMs and at the counters of various merchants, such as SPAR, Checkers, Shoprite, Boxer, Pick n Pay, Cambridge, and others.

SASSA also reminds social grant beneficiaries to always keep their card and PIN safe and never share their PIN with anyone to ensure the security of their funds.
