REPLACEMENT OF SASSA GOLD CARDS DOES NOT STOP TODAY

• Even though the gold South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) cards will no longer work beyond today, social grant beneficiaries who have not yet managed to swap these cards for black Postbank cards will still be able to do so.
• SASSA and Postbank have assured beneficiaries they will still be able to receive their grant even if they have not yet migrated the cards.
• Gold cardholders who do not yet have their black Postbank cards will be able to receive their grants at Post Offices.

Social grant beneficiaries who have not yet replaced their gold South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) cards for black Postbank cards will still be able to replace their cards.

While the SASSA gold cards will stop working after today, 20 March 2025, the replacement of these cards with Postbank black cards will continue beyond today’s deadline.

What this means is that all SASSA beneficiaries using gold cards who have not migrated to Postbank black cards are urged to continue visiting Postbank sites at Shoprite, Checkers, Usave, Pick n Pay, Boxer, and Spar to change as soon as possible.

They can also dial *120*355# to find places where they can replace the gold cards.

SASSA and Postbank have assured beneficiaries that they will receive their grant even if they have not yet migrated their cards, but this will be done through an alternative payment method at Post Office counters.
