  • President Cyril Ramaphosa has concluded a productive meeting with the Limpopo Provincial Government Executive Council, highlighting the province’s economic growth potential and the need for immediate action to improve the lives of its residents.
  • During the session, Ramaphosa emphasised the importance of infrastructure development, particularly in water provision and roads, as central to his government’s agenda for Limpopo.
  • The meeting resulted in an agreement on urgent support from National Departments in key areas such as Energy, Land Reform, and Transport to accelerate sustainable growth projects in the province.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has concluded a productive session with the Limpopo Provincial Government Executive Council. The President expressed confidence in the economic growth potential within the province, which could unlock more opportunities for the people of Limpopo.

“I am pleased to have the opportunity to reflect on the immediate actions we can take together as national and provincial governments to bring significant changes to the province of Limpopo that will impact the lives of ordinary citizens. Limpopo remains a fertile ground upon which we can sow South Africa’s growth,” President Ramaphosa stated.

He further emphasised that areas of infrastructure development, such as water provision and roads, will continue to be at the forefront of his cabinet’s agenda until substantial progress is made to improve the lives of Limpopo’s residents.

The meeting agreed on the urgent need for support from National Departments in areas including Energy and Electricity, Land Reform, Water and Sanitation, Transport, COGTA, and Public Works and Infrastructure. This support aims to assist the province in accelerating catalytic projects that will deliver sustainable growth. The inter-governmental framework will prioritise projects requiring immediate action while also mapping out those that need long-term planning.

President Ramaphosa expressed appreciation for the understanding of the residents’ challenges and the vision for the province, as reflected in the presentation delivered by the Premier and the provincial executive.
