KZN SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT’S STRATEGY AND SYSTEMS UNIT HOSTS EXTENDED PLANNING SESSION

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Social Development’s Strategy and Systems Chief Directorate is currently holding an extended planning session at the Gooderson Gardens Leisure Resort, bringing together all its sub-directorates to assess progress and refine priorities for the remainder of the financial year.

Chief Director for Strategy and Systems, Dr Dumisani Xaba, said the session is designed to strengthen internal coordination and ensure that each unit fully understands its role in advancing the department’s strategic mandate. He noted that the meeting provides a valuable platform to assess achievements, address persistent challenges, and map out the Directorate’s key focus areas for the next four months.

The discussions are centred on strengthening strategic planning, risk management, operational efficiency, and policy coordination. The Directorate’s six sub-units, Strategic Planning, IPAPE, Communication Services and Stakeholder Management, Customer Care Directorate, Strategic ICT, and Directorate Organisational Development & Efficiency (DODE), are each presenting progress updates and outlining their contributions towards improved departmental performance.
