APPOINTMENT OF MR SELEKA HITLER SEKHITLA AS REGISTRAR OF THE SACSSP

  • Mr Seleka Hitler Sekhitla has been appointed as the 5th Registrar of the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP). He will serve a five-year term beginning from his assumption of duty.
  • Mr Sekhitla, a seasoned social worker and manager with over 19 years of experience, brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. His extensive background includes roles at prominent organisations such as Suid-Afrikaanse Vroue-Federasie (SAVF) and the Gauteng Department of Social Development.
  • With qualifications in Social Work, Labour Law, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, and a recent LLB degree from UNISA, Mr Sekhitla’s appointment is expected to bolster the SACSSP’s mission and enhance its effectiveness in regulating social service professions in South Africa.

The South African Council for Social Service Professions has a new Registrar. Mr Seleka Hitler Sekhitla assumes the role for a five-year term from the date of his assumption of duty, as approved by the Minister of Social Development on April 15, 2024.

The Council, along with the Professional Board for Social Work, the Professional Board for Child and Youth Care Work, and the SACSSP Secretariat, extend their congratulations to Mr Sekhitla on his appointment. With over 19 years of experience as a social worker and manager, including roles at organisations like Suid-Afrikaanse Vroue-Federasie (SAVF) and the Gauteng Department of Social Development, Mr Sekhitla brings a wealth of expertise to his new position. He holds qualifications in Social Work, Labour Law, Human Resource Management, and Financial Management, and he recently obtained his LLB from UNISA.

Mr Sekhitla’s career has been marked by significant contributions, including serving as a Board Member at the HWSETA and participating in the Ministerial Committee reviewing the White Paper for Social Welfare. He previously served on the 4th Council and later assumed the role of Professional Conduct Manager in the SACSSP’s Secretariat.

The SACSSP invites all social service professionals and stakeholders to join in congratulating Mr Seleka Hitler Sekhitla on his appointment and to offer their support as he undertakes his new responsibilities as Registrar.
