YOUTH INNOVATION HUB RECEIVES BOOST THROUGH PARTNERSHIP WITH SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

The Greater Eldorado Park Youth Innovation Hub is set to strengthen its youth development programmes following the signing of its Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the Gauteng Department of Social Development.
The organisation recently welcomed Gauteng MEC for Social Development, Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, during a visit to the facility in Eldorado Park. The visit reaffirmed government’s commitment to supporting community-based initiatives that empower young people.
According to Latoya Mentoor, the visit came as a pleasant surprise for the organisation.
“We had already signed our SLA and were delighted when the MEC informed us that we can expect our funding soon. It was encouraging news for our team and the young people we serve,” said Mentoor.
The Greater Eldorado Park Youth Innovation Hub focuses on youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and small business development. Through its programmes, young people are equipped with practical skills, business knowledge and support to pursue economic opportunities.
Mentoor said the organisation is committed to helping young people develop entrepreneurial skills and build sustainable businesses that can contribute to the local economy.
The partnership between the Gauteng Department of Social Development and the Youth Innovation Hub reflects a shared commitment to creating opportunities for young people. Through funding support from the Department and the Hub’s work on the ground, more young people can access skills development, entrepreneurship programmes and pathways to economic participation.
With youth unemployment continuing to pose a significant challenge, collaborations between government and community organisations remain critical in equipping young people with the tools needed to build a better future for themselves and their communities.
