KwaZulu-Natal’s Department of Social Development has bid a fond farewell to one of its most dedicated and accomplished public servants, Mr. Thabiso Moloi, who retired at the end of 2024 after an illustrious 40-year career.

Renowned for his exceptional work ethic, professionalism, and unparalleled talent behind the camera, Mr. Moloi leaves an indelible legacy of service to the province. Mr Moloi who has been a longtime Audio Visual Specialist, has through his camera lens, documented pivotal moments in the province’s history, including the nation’s political transition in the early 1990s, and highlighted the struggles of vulnerable communities.

The MEC for Social Development, Ms. Mbali Shinga, praised Mr. Moloi for his immense contributions to the department and the government. “His persona, gentleness, and experience will be deeply missed. As Mr. Moloi steps into retirement, he leaves behind not only a legacy of impactful storytelling but also the respect and admiration of his colleagues, government officials, and the film and video production industry.
His dedication, creativity, and empathy have inspired many, and his work will continue to serve as a reminder of the power of visual storytelling in bringing about social change.

KwaZulu-Natal DSD salutes Mr. Thabiso Moloi for his service and wishes him a well-deserved, fulfilling retirement.
