MINISTER ZULU APPOINTS ACTING DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

The Department of Social Development has announced the appointment of Mr Peter Netshipale as its new Acting Director-General. Today, the Minister of Social Development, Ms Lindiwe Zulu, officially appointed Mr Netshipale to the position, replacing Mr Linton Mchunu.

Mr Netshipale originates from Mukondeni Village in Mutale, Limpopo Province, and is the eldest child of Mr Jackson and Tshavhungwe Mudzanani Netshipale. With a diverse educational background, he holds numerous degrees and diplomas in health and management fields, including an MBA, a Master of Public Health, and a postgraduate diploma in Public Management. Additionally, he possesses a degree in Nursing Science, an Honours degree in Industrial Psychology, and several nursing diplomas.

With 27 years of experience in public service, Mr Netshipale began his career as an Assistant Director in the Department of Health before progressing to the role of Deputy Director-General for Community Development. Known for his extensive knowledge and expertise in both the public service and the development sector, Mr Netshipale brings invaluable insights and leadership to his role.

In his new role, Mr Netshipale will be responsible for overseeing the department’s operations and strategic direction aimed at addressing social challenges and promoting the well-being of South Africa’s citizens. His appointment reflects his proven leadership abilities and commitment to public service.
