- The Golden Games Music competition concludes with impressive performances from all participating groups, showcasing the diverse musical talents found in South Africa.
- Groups representing various provinces performed songs in multiple languages, highlighting the country’s rich cultural heritage and musical diversity.
- While competition was fierce, the sense of camaraderie and community prevailed, emphasizing the importance of events like these in fostering social interaction and empowerment among older adults.
It is a wrap for what was a trip down memory lane as all the groups that participated in the Golden Games Music competition performed like the professionals they are.
There were songs in many of the country’s languages really showing the diversity that is found in South Africa. Many of the melodic sounds showed pure mastery from these people who many have long surpassed their Golden Jubilee.
Almost of the groups really outdone themselves, but as a representative of my Province the North West, I have to say we brought down the house.
This was a competition but I believe all our aged were winners, really this is their time, for such events gives them an opportunity to interact with like-minded people, who are also in basically the same age bracket.
As the swan song is sang we, must remember that the aged are still very able and all they need is a chance to be allowed to live out their lives on their terms, so that they are in charge of their own soiree.
