CALLING ON CHILD AND YOUTH CARE WORKERS TO NOMINATE REP FOR COUNCIL

The time has come again when child and youth care workers nominate a candidate to serve on the 5th South African Council for Social Service Professions. The council’s board has gazetted and published four candidates for nomination to join the council.
The four candidates nominated by other child and youth care workers are:
- Elwin Gallant
- Victor Mango
- Philani Ndlovu
- Xolani Shabangu
Only one candidate will be eligible to serve on the council to represent child and youth care workers.
Nominated candidates are prohibited from engaging in any form of canvassing or similar activities until the date and procedures for the elections are officially announced.
Any objections to the nominations must be submitted in writing to the Returning Officer within 30 days of the publication date of this notice. Objections should include the name, surname, and SACSSP registration number of the nominated candidate, along with detailed reasons substantiated by documentary proof, and the contact details of the objector.
Upon receiving objections, the Returning Officer may investigate if necessary, and within 30 days of receipt of the candidate’s response, make a final determination regarding the objection. Candidates have the right to withdraw their candidacy or lodge objections to remain on the final list.
